Apologies for the Delay

Hello all,

I would like to apologize for the extreme delay in getting recent episodes out. I’ve been travelling and changing jobs so I just really haven’t had time. I’m going to try to post all the back episodes today or tomorrow.

I appreciate your understanding and patience as I get these posted.

07-10-2016 – Veletta Forsythe Lill

Like four hundred pound line backers; the show tackles Thursday’s madness.
Veletta Forsythe Lill has been a force for change in Dallas for three decades. She has served the city and the region as a civic leader, community leader, and fierce advocate for architecture and place making. Her influence has affected preservation of historic places, created new design features, and empowered architects with a stronger voice in city government.
As a member of the Dallas City Council (1997–2005), she was the go-to person for all matters related to arts, architecture, and culture. Her advocacy helped to preserve key buildings, such as St. Ann’s School, while creating new design-centric districts and buildings. She consulted with the architecture community in order to educate decision makers in how to build a better Dallas, and her role as chair of the Dallas City Council Comprehensive Plan Committee set Dallas on a path for smart design and planning. Her tenacity, passion and influence have been important in Dallas’ creation of facilities such as the Latino Cultural Center, designed by Mexican architect and AIA Gold Medal recipient Ricardo Legoretta, Hon. FAIA.
During her tenure as executive director of the Dallas Arts District (2008–2012), she rallied disparate organizations to support and share in her vision of a city filled with strong design, art, and parks, accessible to everyone. She also provided political and strategic finesse to cut through red tape and outdated planning codes. The district’s museums, performance halls, and other structures were designed by such architects as Santiago Calatrava, FAIA (Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge); Sir Norman Foster, Hon. FAIA (Winspear Opera House); and Rem Koolhaas, Hon. FAIA (Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre). A magnificent park serves as a connector between uptown and downtown.

06-26-2016 – Sheriff Lupe Valdez

Lupe uses humor to break down barriers, relating a story where she is in an argument with southern boy sheriff. The story paraphrased is this: she admits to poking the other sheriff in the shoulder. He asked her, what she was doing. Her reply was, pressing (One) for English, (Two) for Spanish, (Three) I don’t understand you. I’m looking for the button, so we can communicate. This proceeded to break the room into laugher.

06-19-2016 – Monica Roberts

David and Chris/Josh are fat fingering the board again, and can read tracks on cd’s. Other than, a very incite full interview into the Trans community, and all the headaches and expenses that go along with the medical community. And lots of scary stories of these new laws, where physician are refusing service to Emergency room patients, because they say it violates their personal religion. Lets just see how far that will go based on skin color or how about the wrong religion?

This is definitely a family show on how to keep kids home, rather than on the streets and homeless shelters just because they are LGBTQ.
